Dr. Hu focuses teaching on Persuasion and Social Influence, Research in Advertising and Public Relations, Media and Event Planning, and Communication Campaigns. Many students under her supervision received top awards in national advertising and public relations competitions. She formerly worked in the news media and advertising agencies in the U.S., and conducted media and consumer research in Canada. Prior to her doctoral study, she taught for two years in the Department of International Journalism and Communication at Guangdong University of Foreign Studies. She currently enjoys doing research on the effects of persuasive media contents.
